A slum in Paraguay is the unlikely home to an orchestra which has crisscrossed the world multiple times, including a stop on the South Coast this week.
The Recycled Orchestra can’t afford traditional instruments, so for the last decade it’s been making them out of garbage found at a dump. The orchestra brought its music to Ventura County, as part of a U.S. tour also intended to promote a documentary about the group's incredible story.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco was on hand for the orchestra’s performance in Camarillo, and talks with its founder and some of its musicians.
